The genre was fantasy, romance, and princess.
I forgot how the FL looks like but the ML had black or brown hair it was dark.
I just remembered that the ML was known as a famous war hero and everyone respected and looked up to him.
However the FL was a known masterminded criminal and she had escaped many prisons. Like FL literally was caught again and was going to be brought to the highest ranked prison where it is known to be impossible to escape from.
The war hero (ML) during the time was coming back from the war after winning with his teammates. But they were quite upset because to the people it was a successful war but to him he felt miserable because as captain he had to make decisions when in action.
The enemy had sent an attack, two bombs. One towards his country the other to their allied country. And his aircraft only had one bomb to save one of the countries and he chose his home country. But due to that he hated himself.
After coming back he was ordered to help transfer FL to the prison and they were transferring by ship.
On the ship the FL and ML quarreled a lot, bc he hates her because she was originally from the allied country that he couldn’t saved. She had escaped from that prison a while back and was wanted. I forgot but I think ML hated her bc he thought FL was selfish and hated that she a criminal got to live instead of innocent people. But she was hurt a little since she looked up to him but at the same time didn’t care.
And on the ship she was kept in handcuffs all the time and all I remember was ML had a subordinate and was switching on and off to watch her but he was more lenient. And he had a younger sister that was interested in FL because she believed she was a witch or had magic bc she found her cool how she escaped so much and wanted to meet her. So the kid sneaked to where she was and talked to her. And FL was nice to her and showed her small magic tricks and the kid was excited saying she was right that FL had magic etc… (FL doesn’t have magic she’s just super intelligent currently where I stopped she doesn’t who knows she might later wink wink)
Basically later she had to go somewhere with the kid’s older brother and the little kid was skipping around and was eating candy and choked on it.
The brother was too scared and worried so he froze. FL saved the little girl and it turns out the kid was a granddaughter of a highly noble idr who but they wanted to repay her kindness of saving her. But ML was against it he kept trying to remind and state to everyone that she’s a criminal. And the high grandpa noble said she may be a criminal but she is still a human who had a heart of kindness you can say. And that whatever happens on the ship stays on the ship basically don’t look down on his power just bc he’s not the emperor bc his family is still an outstanding family that is mighty and that he’ll accept responsibility for the FL.
That’s all I remember and she was basically getting better treatment afterwards. Oh also I think FL didn’t really want much she mainly wanted a fresh bath.
Oh anddd ML had another friend that was searching for a missing princess from that ally country that was demolished he still believes she’s alive. Idk the age of this princess though
At first I was like she FL that princess but idk now they literally said to be continued and left me on a cliffhanger…
AHAHHA THe funny part is even after typing all this I don’t remember the title:( that’s what I get for READING OVER HUNDREDSSS:(
