i’ve been here for quite some time and i mean this in the most respectful way possible, did you know that many minors at 13 are engaged in romantic and sexual relationships in real life? and as a reminder, this site has many fictional works and usually they are not romanticizing or sexualizing a minor or child, its not child pornography where creeps get off to it, it’s a gay manga with a minor x adults. each character is made up of black lines. pls take off the lens of “minors aren’t sexually active” and “any form of sexuality involving a minor is ‘evil’”. the common age of consent is yes obviously 18 however that doesn’t mean people irl that aren’t 18 are refraining from going at it. many people lose their virginity in highschool. 13-19 year olds go to highschool. it’s not out of the norm, it shouldn’t be encouraged for safety reasons yet we should support teens who are and not make them feel bad about themselves for participating in it. for a particular manga, the highschooler made the first move and clearly lead the relationship and if he wasn’t okay with anything based off his character he would have voiced that. the older guy was not preying or being in-genuine or anything like that, he was taking it seriously and didn’t have any impure intentions as one should do when in that situation. things like that and minors dating adults happens in real life and it’s validating to be able to read about it, nobody in their right mind is being influenced by yaoi to start liking minors or fetishize or romanticize them. the sexual conduct in this manga that im referencing is genuine, and the minor isn’t based off of any minor irl, the manga doesn’t appeal to prurient interests, there is literary and artistic value in this, and therefore it’s not illegal under the miller standard. i mean come on if you read yaoi in general you should study up on this! if you’re concerned don’t read on an illegal site, go read on webtoons. it’s completely free of nudity there. if you don’t want to then imagine they are freshly 18 or in college so that you can enjoy the authors work and the story properly. most of the time these manga don’t resemble a child at all so there you go. and for the instances where they are minors and resemble smaller children, and you can’t handle reading it as an art form and instead sexualise them saying you dislike or can’t not see them as children, then move on. again i’m saying this in the most respectful way possible. i also understand that countries may possibly block all types of minor’s relationships and sexuality so it may even be totally unforeign and deemed disgusting by society however this is an international illegal site so please don’t be surprised and let it ruin a good story for you. i’m assuming the best in all of you when i say all this but just in case, please don’t be or act like the creep who sexualizes an art form with sexual relationships that involve a minor. a normal person can read it and understand that there’s nothing about whether it turns them off or not because it’s not about that. it’s about the story and the characters and the morals and the art that the authors and illustrators have created.
in the event that a manga doesn’t pass the miller standards in the majority of the common audience in the comment section then seek out someone who don’t seem to think that and get a second opinion before reporting to vy-san. there are mangas that have psychotic elements and tendencies and violence that can be difficult to differentiate from manga that wouldn’t pass the miller standard focusing purely on minor sexuality and exploitation. it’s always smart to get a second opinion from another side.
